Good Hope A&E reopens after suspect package find
A Birmingham hospital has reopened its accident and emergency department after a suspect package was found to be a hoax.
Police were called to Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield shortly after 0820 GMT.
The package was destroyed in a controlled explosion at about 1100 GMT.
Police later said the package was a hoax and the force was investigating. Roads surrounding the hospital are open.
Hospital director Lisa Dunn said A&E patients were transferred to a different part of the hospital after the package was found.
The department had been closed as a "precautionary measure", she said.
The explosion was carried out within toilets in the A&E department.
