Man remanded over Birmingham park 'strangulation'

A 38-year-old man has appeared before magistrates charged with the murder of a woman found strangled in a park.

David Connors, 38, from Greenvale Avenue in Sheldon, Birmingham, was remanded in custody by Birmingham Magistrates Court.

Michelle Stonall, 34, from Kingstanding, was found in Sheldon Country Park on Saturday. Post mortem tests revealed she had been strangled.

Mr Connors is due to reappear before Birmingham Crown Court on 9 November.
