Woman found in Sheldon Park park was strangled

A 38-year-old man has been arrested over the murder of a woman found dead in a park in Sheldon, Birmingham.

A woman in her 30s was found in a brook in Sheldon Park at about 1245 BST on Saturday. Post-mortem tests showed she had been strangled.

West Midlands Police has not released details of her identity.

A man from Birmingham was arrested early on Tuesday. Murder inquiries are ongoing and anyone who was in the park on Saturday is asked to contact police.
