Police bid to identify woman's body in Birmingham brook

Police have been trying to identify a woman whose body was found in a brook in a Birmingham park.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was discovered in Sheldon Country Park at 1245 BST on Saturday.

Her death is being treated as unexplained as police work to find out who she was and how she died.

The woman was white with brown auburn shoulder-length hair and wore black trainers, blue jeans and a black jacket.

West Midlands Police said a post-mortem examination would take place in due course.

The force appealed for information from the public.
