Reading attack: Man held after 'window cleaner' appeal

Police said the woman was attacked in the Caversham area on Friday afternoon

A man has been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted in Reading.

Thames Valley Police said the woman was attacked in the Caversham area of the town at about 16:00 GMT on Friday.

Police had earlier appealed for information about a man reportedly knocking on doors in the area of Ian Mikardo Way beforehand, asking if residents wanted their windows cleaned.

A 66-year-old man from Guildford in Surrey was arrested on suspicion of sexual asault.
