Man jailed for broken glass attack on woman in Langley
A man who stabbed a woman several times with a broken bottle in a "vicious" attack has been jailed for nine years.
Eugen Bejan, 26, of Layburn Crescent, Slough, grabbed a 36-year-old woman by the neck before stabbing her in the arm, shoulder and back.
She had been walking on the M4 footbridge in Langley in July this year, Reading Crown Court heard.
Bejan admitted assault causing grievous bodily harm.
His victim sustained serious injuries and required hospital treatment, but had since been discharged, police said.
Det Con Thomas Parker said: "To viciously attack a lone woman late at night is almost beyond comprehension, and Bejan's despicable actions that night have caused the victim to suffer severe physical and emotional pain."
