Man jailed for injuring police officers in Hungerford

A man who assaulted two police officers has been jailed for two years and nine months.

The officers, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital after being attacked at the scene of a road crash near Hungerford, Berkshire, on 26 December.

They were investigating a van which ended up in a ditch at Combe Gibbet.

Mark Davies, 46, was found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm, assault with intent to resist arrest and criminal damage.

Davies, of Ravenswood Road, London, but formerly from Andover, was convicted by a jury at Reading Crown Court.
