Second arrest over Reading Prospect Park shooting

A second man has been arrested after a shooting in a Reading park which is being treated as a targeted attack.

The 26 year old, from Reading, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and bailed until 26 July.

It follows an attack in Prospect Park on 30 May which left a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Another 26-year-old Reading man previously arrested on suspicion of affray remains on police bail.

Det Insp Dave Hubbard, from Thames Valley Police, described the attack as "very serious" and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: "We are aware that there were a large number of people in Prospect Park at the time of the offence, some of whom have not yet come forward.

"We would really like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who has any information about the circumstances of the incident."

The victim was taken to hospital by air ambulance and has since been discharged.
