Tributes have been paid to a woman and her three-year-old daughter who died when their car hit a tree after coming off the M4 motorway.

Becky Hickmore, 37, from Middlesex, died at the scene of the crash, close to junction 11 at Reading, on 7 May.

Her daughter Milly died later in hospital from her injuries.

In a statement, their family said their "devastating loss" would be "deeply felt by all of their family and friends".

"They will always be remembered... the family thank all of the members of the public who stopped to help, members of the emergency services and particularly the hospital staff at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford who have provided amazing support to them," they said.

"In light of the tragic events they request that their privacy continue to be respected at this very difficult time."

Thames Valley Police has also thanked the people who stopped and helped immediately after the collision before the emergency services arrived.

A man in his 30s and a girl aged five were also involved in the accident and later discharged from hospital.
