Reading hotel death: Murder investigation starts

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in a "targeted" attack at a hotel.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his 40s, was found at Elmhurst Hotel in Reading just before 10:00 BST. He died at the scene, in Church Road, Earley.

Two men from Reading, aged 28 and 38, were arrested in the centre of the town at 11:00 BST on suspicion of murder. They are both in custody.

Det Sgt Richard Vint said he believed it "was a targeted attack".

Mr Vint appealed for witnesses and said: "We have a scenewatch in place at Elmhurst Hotel, as well as a number of road closures in place at this time."
