Reading Gateway redevelopment set to go ahead

Plans to build homes, a hotel and a drive-through bank on the vacant site of a former computer company in Reading have been approved.

Developer Kier is to redevelop the former Hewlett Packard site at Worton Grange at a cost of £75m.

The scheme, dubbed the "Reading Gateway" also includes a restaurants, a pub and retail warehouses.

Reading Borough Council approved the scheme with building work expected to start later this year.
