Man arrested following Reading hotel rape

A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at a hotel in Reading.

A woman in her 20s was raped at the Hillingdon Prince Hotel in Christchurch Road in the early hours of Thursday.

A 39-year-old man from St. Neots in Cambridgeshire was arrested on Saturday and remains in police custody.

Det Sgt John Yallop, from Thames Valley Police said: "The victim is being supported by specially trained officers and a full investigation of this incident is under way."

He added: "I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about what happened in the Hillingdon Prince Hotel on Wednesday night to the early hours of Thursday morning.

"There may be other people who were in the hotel, either at the bar or in bedrooms, who may have seen or heard something which could help us with our investigation."
