Thames Valley Police office dismissed for taking MDMA at nightclub

A police officer has been dismissed for taking the drug MDMA at a nightclub in Portsmouth, Thames Valley Police said.

PC Ryan Sproat, who was based at Loddon Valley, was found taking the class A drug by a doorman at Tiger Tiger nightclub in January.

A misconduct panel heard he had bought the drug in exchange for drinks.

After a two-day hearing Mr Sproat was dismissed without notice by Assistant Chief Constable Christopher Shead on Tuesday.

He had "breached the standards of professional behaviour", the force said.
