A teenage girl was threatened with a knife and sexually assaulted by a group of boys while she was walking on her own, police have said.

The 14-year-old was in Trelawney Avenue, Slough on Thursday evening when she was approached by the boys, thought to be aged between 14 and 16.

She was groped and threatened before she managed to run away from the scene at 20:10 GMT.

Thames Valley Police said it was carrying out extra patrols in the area.

Det Sgt Jonathan Groenen said: "This was a concerning incident in which a group of teenage boys approached a girl who was walking alone before committing this offence.

"Uniformed officers are conducting extra patrols in the area and if anyone in the community has any concerns, or any information, please speak to an officer."
