A man has been found guilty of online sex chats with young girls and making indecent images of children.

Daniel Fisher, 35, of Merchants Place, Reading was caught when police obtained a warrant to search his home.

A jury at Reading Crown Court found Fisher guilty of two counts of making indecent images of children and 15 counts of attempting to incite a female child to engage in sexual activity.

Police said the case was a reminder of the "dangers of social media".

Fisher was arrested on 31 December 2013 after officers found sexually explicit chat logs involving children and indecent images of children on his computer at home.

He was charged on 29 October 2015 and convicted after a week-long trial.

Det Con Sandra Tearney of Thames Valley Police said: "This case is a pertinent reminder of the dangers of social media - do you know who your child is speaking to online?"

Fisher will be sentenced on 8 February.
