Suspected Slough boys' abduction probe dropped

The suspected abduction of two boys from their own home in Slough by three masked men is no longer being investigated by police.

It was reported the offenders entered the property on Hemming Way on the Britwell estate on 31 December and forced the boys, aged six and 10, into a van outside.

Officers were told the boys managed to escape several minutes later.

However, the force said it had since established "no offence took place".

"Thames Valley Police takes all reports of this nature seriously and officers will always carry out enquiries to establish the circumstances," the force added.
