Boy, 15, killed as car hits tree in Newbury

A 15-year-old boy has died in a car crash involving four teenagers in Berkshire.

The boy was a passenger in a Vauxhall Zafira, died when it hit a tree on Wheatlands Lane in Enborne, Newbury.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which required surgery, after the crash at about 04:00 BST.

He remains in a serious condition. Two other boys, aged 15 and 16, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses.

Police investigating officer Stuart Whitworth, from the serious collision investigation unit, described it as "a tragic incident involving four young men from the local area".
