Reading memorial tree planned for killed cyclists
A memorial is being planned for two cyclists who were killed when they were hit by a car in Berkshire.
Kris Jarvis, 39, and his 30-year-old colleague John Morland died on the A329 in Purley-on-Thames on 13 February. The driver was jailed for 10 years.
Mr Jarvis's fiancée Tracey Fidler said Reading Borough Council, where the men worked, will pay for a memorial tree and plaque in Kensington Park, Reading.
Ms Fidler said: "You can't put down in words how incredible the two men were."
She said her fiancé's colleagues and friends approached her with the idea for a memorial.
"He did everything for everybody round here," she said.
She chose Kensington Park as that was where Mr Jarvis "spent a lot of time with his dogs".
The tree will be planted and a memorial service held in November.
