Man arrested after Datchet catapult attack

A man has been arrested in connection with a catapult attack in Berkshire which left the victim requiring surgery to save his sight in one eye.

Shards of glass injured the eyeball of the man in his 40s after the lenses of his glasses were broken by a missile.

The attack happened in Holmlea Walk, Datchet at about 20:20 BST on Sunday. A 28-year-old man from Datchet has been released on bail until 17 September.

The victim is recovering in hospital following surgery on Monday.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after the attacker was seen to make off in a car following the attack.
