Relatives have paid tribute to a "friendly and effervescent" man who was fatally stabbed in Windsor town centre.

Seán Noctor, 24, died in hospital from injuries he sustained during a fight between a group of men in Barry Avenue just after 03:00 BST on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from a stab wound to the body.

Six men have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Mr Noctor's death.

His family said in a statement: "Our lovely son and brother was taken away from us needlessly on Sunday.

"He was friendly and effervescent and we feel so privileged to have known him.

"Seán loved life. He loved his family and friends and with his cheeky smile he brought happiness and good times to those who knew him.

"Seán always saw the best in people and was willing to help those he cared about.

"We love him so much and our hearts are broken. Seán will be greatly missed and the memories we have of him will always be with us.

"As we try to come to terms with his premature passing, we ask for privacy at this difficult time."

A 27-year-old man from Harrow, a 26-year-old man from London, two men from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, aged 20 and 21, and two men from Luton, aged 21 and 26, are being held on suspicion of murder.
