Newbury-based firm 2e2 Group makes 319 staff redundant

More than 300 people have been made redundant after a Berkshire-based IT services firm went into administration.

Administrators said the Newbury-based 2e2 Group, which employs 1,442 people across the UK, is up for sale after a "deterioration in trading".

They added 2e2 was still operating and they were "committed" to protecting the business and the rest of its workforce.

The 319 axed jobs are in Reading, Newbury, Edinburgh, Gateshead; and Heathrow and Hayes in London.

The firm's operations in Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland, Spain and The Netherlands are unaffected.

Joint administrator Simon Granger of FTI Consulting said "significant interest has been expressed by third parties in acquiring the business".
