Slough motorist charged after man hit by car in Ascot

A driver has been charged with attempted murder after a man was hit by a car in Berkshire.

The 24-year-old, from London, was struck by a VW Golf as he was walking near the Esso garage on Ascot High Street in the early hours of Sunday.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital.

A 22-year-old man from Slough has been charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and drink driving.

A 20-year-old Slough man has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Two other Slough men, aged 20 and 24, have been bailed over the incident.
