Bracknell Foodbank users reach almost 5,000

The number of people turning to a food bank in Berkshire has risen by 80%.

Bracknell Foodbank says it has helped nearly 5,000 people in the last year after they were referred to them by support agencies.

Manager Geoff Hallet said the people coming to the service were in a desperate plight.

He said they were most likely to be single parents or families with a number of children.
