Arrests after man dies from stab wounds in Newbury

Four men have been arrested following the death of a man from stab wounds in Berkshire.

Thames Valley Police said the man, 38, was found at a property in Queens Road, Newbury, at about 22:00 GMT on Friday.

Three men, aged 20, 22 and 32, were arrested early on Saturday on suspicion of murder. The fourth, aged 32, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A post-mortem examination on the victim is expected to take place on Monday.

Officers had initially been called to a 33-year-old man who was found seriously injured in Boundary Road, Newbury, at 21:25 GMT.

He was taken to hospital, where he is in a serious condition.

Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman said: "Both victims appear to have stab type injuries. It does appear that the parties involved are known to each other."
