Slough fuel theft police make 13 arrests

Thirteen people have been arrested and 15 cars seized by police investigating fuel thefts in Berkshire.

Officers said the arrests were part of an operation to combat 'bilking', where people using false number plates leave filling stations without paying.

Thames Valley Police said more than 300 number plates had been stolen and 500 fuel thefts had taken place in the Slough area since April.

More than £20,000 worth of fuel was stolen during that time.

The majority of the arrests on Thursday were made in Slough. Two people were arrested in Iver, Buckinghamshire.
