A man accused of murdering a woman in Reading has appeared before the town's crown court.

Sandra Maralhas, 38, was found dead by police after officers were told there was a body at a block of flats in Coronation Square on 11 November.

Louis Marrafa, 46, also of Coronation Square, was remanded in custody to reappear for a plea and case management hearing on 1 March next year.

A post-mortem examination showed that the cause of death was strangulation.
