Road to close for Reading station traffic works

Reading's Station Road will be closed to traffic from Monday as the final phase of road improvements gets under way.

Traffic flows in the Berkshire town are being completely re-organised as part of improvements to the railway station.

Motorists will be diverted via Friar Street and Blagrave Street until 17 April.

The traffic flow will be permanently switched on 18 April and the overall works are due to be completed by May.

Reading railway station is being remodelled by Network Rail in an £850m overhaul.

Work to reorganise traffic flows and road layouts around Reading town centre began in June 2010.
