Four men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man found dying in the back of a van in Berkshire.

Father-of-three Shaleem Amar, 33, of Sunningdale, was found in the van after it was stopped by police on the A30 in the town on Wednesday.

Robert Johnston, 56, Tom Johnston, 24, Ben Johnston, 26, and Shaun Matthews, 54, all of Cambridgeshire, appeared at Slough Magistrates' Court.

They were remanded in custody to appear before Reading Crown Court on Tuesday.

Tom, Ben and Robert Johnston are all from the village of Pampisford while Shaun Matthews is from Whittlesford.

A post-mortem examination showed Mr Amar died of head injuries.

Thames Valley Police has referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) after it was revealed Mr Amar was not discovered in the van for nearly 40 minutes after it was stopped.
