A body found near a wooded area in Berkshire has been identified as that of a missing man.

Leslie Frewen, 83, was last seen on 15 August after leaving his home in Warfield Park, Bracknell, to go for his usual daily walk.

His family made a number of appeals, but his body was found in Forest Road, Winkfield Row, on Friday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious. A post-mortem examination is to be carried out later in the week.

Mr Frewen, a World War II veteran who served with the Grenadier Guards from 1945 to 1948, was married and had two daughters.

He also had four grandchildren, aged between 12 and 18.
