Warning over copper piping thefts in East Berkshire

Residents are being warned to be vigilant following a spate of thefts of copper gas pipes in east Berkshire.

Since February there have been 11 cases in Slough and Maidenhead where thieves cut and stole them from outside homes and commercial buildings, police said.

A police spokesman said: "[They] ignored the dangers of leaking gas and the risks posed to residents.

"This sort of behaviour is very dangerous and we urge residents to report any suspicious activity."
