A cyclist was killed when he was struck by a car in an apparent hit-and-run in Buckinghamshire.

The man, 28, was riding downhill on Hicks Farm Rise in High Wycombe when he was hit by a black car travelling uphill. He died at the scene.

The car continued travelling towards Totteridge Lane. Thames Valley Police believe it was in convoy with a silver car, which also did not stop.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash at 23:40 GMT on Monday.

Sgt Beth Walton said: "The drivers of both the black and silver cars, which we believe were travelling in convoy, did not stop at the scene.

"It is vitally important we trace these motorists."

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene. No arrests have been made.
