Marlow woman 'set on fire' after suffering fatal head injury

A woman suffered a fatal head injury before her body was set alight, police have said.

Albertina Choules, 81, was attacked at her home in Ragmans Lane, Marlow, in the early hours of Wednesday.

A 23-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

A family statement described the victim, known as Tina, as a "self-sufficient" woman who was "incredibly special".

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was blunt force head injury.

Thames Valley Police is expected to remain at the scene of the crime for several days.

The force said an officer who was assaulted by a man when he arrived at the property has been discharged from hospital.
