A murderer and another "violent" man have absconded from an open prison in Buckinghamshire.

Darren Douglas, 46, is serving a life sentence for a killing in Birmingham in 1998. Ricardo Dunn, 32, is serving an indeterminate sentence for an assault in Burnley in 2009.

The men fled from HM Spring Hill in Grendon Underwood on Sunday.

Thames Valley Police advised people not to approach the pair but to call police "immediately".

Ch Insp Olly Wright said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen these men in the area and can provide us with information about their movements.

"Both men have links with other areas so may have travelled out of the Thames Valley.

"I would like to remind people that it is a criminal offence to harbour these men and anyone caught doing so would be arrested."
