Leonard Flower stabbed in heart in garage in Luton
A retired computer analyst killed while tidying his garage in Luton had been stabbed in the heart, a post-mortem examination has revealed.
Leonard Flower, 67, was attacked in Carnegie Gardens on Tuesday afternoon. He died at the scene.
A 35-year-old man arrested in Warwickshire on suspicion of murder is in hospital receiving treatment for a hand injury, police said.
Investigations continue while he is receiving treatment, a spokesman added.
Mr Flower, known as Len, had two adult daughters and lived with his wife of 47 years.
She was in the house at the time but was unaware of what had happened until police and paramedics arrived at the house, a spokesman added.
Det Ch Insp Jason Gordon said: "While the suspect undergoes medical treatment we continue to piece together the events that led up to the murder of Mr Flower.
"This was a violent incident that has left a family in total shock."
