Bedfordshire NHS worker arrested over sex offences in 2001
An NHS worker has been arrested on suspicion of indecent assault after two women contacted police about alleged sex offences committed 12 years ago.
The Bedfordshire and Luton NHS Trust worker was arrested in January at his home in Shefford, Bedfordshire, police said.
He has since been bailed. Police said his employer had suspended him while inquiries continued.
The trust has yet to comment on the arrest.
Bedfordshire Police said the incidents were reported to them following publicity surrounding the Jimmy Savile abuse case.
Officers are working with agencies to send confidential letters to other women who may have come into contact with the arrested man on a professional basis.
Police added the General Medical Council was also helping them with their inquiries.
It has advised people with any further information to get in touch.
