St Albans road closed over body find

A road has been closed after police discovered the body of a man, and chemicals, at a house in Hertfordshire.

Officers went to the property on the A1057 Hatfield Road, St Albans, at 1400 GMT, following concern for the man's welfare.

They found the man, who was in his 20s, had died. Police said they are wearing protective clothing due to chemicals at the site.

There is no risk to members of the public, a spokesman added.

Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious at this stage.

It is expected the road will be closed in both ways at the junctions with Ashley Road and at the small roundabout, just before Morrisons, for some time.
