Girl, 15, grabbed by man in St Albans

A man is being sought by Hertfordshire Police after a 15-year-old girl was grabbed and asked for sex.

The girl was approached and held by the wrist as she walked across a field behind Cunningham Avenue in St Albans on Thursday afternoon.

She was able to break free and ran off, police said.

The man is described as tall, slim, with short dark hair and a "well-maintained" goatee beard and sideburns. He was in his late 20s or early 30s.

He was wearing a hip-length dark blue or black coat described as being made of waterproof material, black gloves and a grey scarf.

He had a local accent, police added.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened between 1700 and 1730 GMT, or who recognises the description of the offender is asked to contact police.
