Eight people in flat fire rescue in Buckinghamshire
Fire crews rescued eight people from flats in Buckinghamshire after smoke blocked their escape route.
The people were trapped on the third floor of the building in Beech Close, Flackwell Heath, early on Tuesday, following a fire in one of the flats.
About 15 firefighters used 44ft (13.5m) ladders to rescue them from balconies.
Those rescued were a woman, a couple with a baby girl and another couple with two girls. A couple in the flat on fire were able to escape without help.
All 10 people were treated by paramedics for the effects of breathing in smoke.
The fire service said the blaze had started in the mains fuse box and burnt away the front door, filling the corridor with smoke.
