The M1 in Bedfordshire has re-opened after being shut for nearly 10 hours following a crash in the early hours.

A lorry overturned near Luton at about 0330 GMT, closing the carriageway between junctions 10 and 11 for Luton airport.

By 1130 GMT the lorry was removed and three lanes had opened on the southbound carriageway.

Traffic problems extended to the A5 which was also closed south of Dunstable after another accident.
