Man murdered in Luton stabbing attack

A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in a park in Bedfordshire.

The victim was attacked at the Kingsway Recreation Ground, in Luton, shortly before 1515 BST on Saturday and taken to hospital where he later died.

The police helicopter and dog units were used to search the area and a full forensic examination of the scene is being carried out.

Police said they want to speak to a man with long, big and dark sideburns seen fleeing the scene.

He is described as a white man with a dark complexion who was wearing a hooded top and a hat.

Det Ch Insp Mark Ross said: "The recreation ground was very busy at the time of this incident and we believe the man we are looking for left the scene on foot towards Beverley Road.

"I would urge anyone who recognises the man from the description given or anyone who has information about this crime, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and speak to officers."
