A 38-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a man was attacked at an Overground station in south-east London.

Adrian Brown, of Brockley Rise, Forest Hill, was arrested after a man in his 40s was assaulted on a train at Forest Hill station at 13:20 GMT on Monday.

He was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon and assault by battery.

The alleged victim is in a serious but stable condition, police said.

Mr Brown was arrested at the station on Monday afternoon after British Transport Police received a number of calls from people at the scene.

Rail services were temporarily stopped on the line and roads around the station were closed while police carried out investigations.

Mr Brown will appear before Westminster magistrates on Wednesday.
