Former Ch Supt Gary Davies charged with sexual assault

A former police chief superintendent has been charged with sexually assaulting three women on trains.

Gary Davies, 53, of Shoreditch Road, Taunton, has been charged with five counts of sexual assault on trains between December 2015 and May 2016.

Mr Davies left the force in 2012 to work for Bristol City Council where he leads a unit designed to help troubled families in the city.

His case is due before magistrates in Bristol next month.
