A jury in the trial of a lorry driver accused of causing the death of a man by dangerous driving has been dismissed because it could not reach a verdict.

David Hare, 54, from Ford, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, was charged after a collision on the A27 between Polegate and Lewes, East Sussex, in March 2015.

Steven Copping, 49, from Hildenborough, Kent, died after his car was crushed.

Mr Hare was on trial at Lewes Crown Court. The Crown has seven days to decide if there should be a retrial.
