Three members of a Bradford family found dead at their home were stabbed to death and a fourth died from hanging, post-mortem tests revealed.

Jitendra Lad, 49, his wife Daksha, 44, and their two daughters Trisha, 19, and Nisha, 16, were found at a property on Blackberry Way, Clayton at about 20:30 GMT on Monday.

The three women were found stabbed in their beds.

Mr Lad died from compression of the neck caused by hanging.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said that the injuries to the three women "are thought to have been sustained at an earlier point during the weekend" and tests "suggested Mr Lad died on Monday".

Det Supt Simon Atkinson said: "I have spoken to the family members this evening and updated them on the results of the post-mortem examinations.

"They are continuing to come to terms with what took place at Blackberry Way, which has robbed a family of two generations, and specially trained officers are supporting them at this very difficult time."

He added that police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
