Driver arrested after Billingshurst biker killed

A 69-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash with his car.

The biker, a 20-year-old man from Billingshurst, West Sussex suffered fatal injuries in the crash on the A29 at Bury at 16:30 BST on Sunday.

He was travelling south with another motorcyclist, also 20, from Haslemere, Surrey, who was unhurt.

The car driver and a passenger were taken to hospital in Chichester.

The driver was suffering from shock and his passenger, a 64-year-old woman, sustained a broken collar bone, whiplash and shock.

Sussex Police said both people in the Volvo hatchback were on holiday in the UK from Bermuda.

The driver has been bailed until 1 September.
