Ford Open Prison absconder David Blood sentenced

A robber who absconded from an open prison where he was serving a life term has been sentenced to a further eight months in jail.

David Blood walked out of Ford Open Prison in West Sussex on 12 June and was arrested in Winchester on 24 June.

He was jailed for life in 2003 for robbing Wylde Green post office in Sutton Coldfield.

Blood, 48, pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court and was told his sentence would be served concurrently.
