Mosque windows smashed in Warrington 'racist attack'

A Warrington mosque has had a number of windows smashed by two men who were "shouting racist abuse", police said.

Officers were called to Jamiat Ul-Mulemeen Mosque on Arpley Street on Monday during evening prayers.

No one was injured. Cheshire Police said it was treating it as an "isolated incident", but have increased patrols in the area.

The force want to speak to a man seen on Arpley Street wearing an unzipped hooded top and riding a bicycle.

Two other men, both described as white, between 16 and 25 and wearing dark hooded tops, are also being sought in connection with the incident.
