Lincoln-to-Worksop railway line reopens after flash floods
Trains between Lincoln and Worksop are running again after rail services were suspended because of flash flooding.
Heavy rain on Monday forced the line to close between Gainsborough and Retford after signalling was affected, at about 15:00 BST.
West Lindsey District Council gave out sandbags after flooding affected 28 streets in Gainsborough and properties in Blyton.
Floods were also reported in parts of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Chris Allen, head of public protection at West Lindsey council, said the heavy rainfall had been predicted.
"The difficulty with the types of showers at the moment is the level of certainty and where they're going to fall," he said.
A National Rail spokesman said on Monday night: "The water has drained away and the signalling problem has been fixed which means that trains are running again."
