Police have released CCTV footage showing the last confirmed sighting of missing student Matthew Jordan.

The 20-year-old, from Middlesbrough, disappeared while on a night out with friends in the Lake District on Thursday, 27 March.

The images show Matthew leaving the Stag's Head pub in Bowness and heading towards the Lake Road promenade.

After returning to the pub, he is then seen heading along Church Street at 00:44 GMT.

'Heart-warming' response

Det Insp Furzana Nazir said: "Matthew's family and friends have been here since the day he was reported missing.

"We have detectives, local officers, underwater search teams, mountain rescue and search dogs all trying to find him.

"The response from the local area in assisting with our enquiries is heart-warming and everyone wants the end result of Matthew being reunited with his family safe and well."

Matthew is described as being around 6ft tall, of medium build, with dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a navy, long-sleeved shirt, jeans and grey pull-up boots.

At a press conference on Wednesday, it was revealed his mobile phone battery had been flat when he disappeared and his requests for a charger, a taxi and a room for the night had gone unheeded.
