Linchmere crash driver named as Ryan Carney

A man who died in a crash in West Sussex has been named by police as 21-year-old Ryan Carney.

Mr Carney, of Kings Road, Haslemere died after his car left the road on the B2131 Liphook Road, near Linchmere.

He was found dead in his car by a passing motorist just before 12:00 BST on Monday.

Sgt Rob Baldwin said police believe the accident happened in the early hours of that day and appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

"We would like to speak with anyone who may have seen Ryan's green Peugeot 106 being driven between Liphook and Haslemere," he said.

Officers also want to speak to any local resident or business who has CCTV footage of the B2070 Portsmouth Road just south of Liphook, or the B2131 Haslemere Road, running east from the village.
